Tarentaalrand Safari Lodge is a family-run game farm that is situated on the border of the Free State and Northern Cape provinces, in the Malaria-free Kalahari Thorn veldt of South Africa.
During your visit with us, you will experience this unique part of Africa with all its wonders, peace and tranquility, just as in historic times.
Your hosts are all qualified Professional Hunters. We specialize in Hunting Safaris – Bow Hunting, Cull Hunting and for fun we have our informal (social) bird hunting, which may include a veldt picnic and plenty of laughter. We also offer Photographic Safaris where visitors can go on game drives or do hiking through the veldt to go bird watching and experience the untouched African surroundings, fresh air and panoramic views from the small hills and kopjes in the area. Be ready for that unsurpassed sunrise and sunsets with Kimberley’s cityscape on the horizon – only 20 km from the lodge.
Kimberley is the Diamond City of South Africa, with its world-famous Big Hole (the largest man-made excavation on earth). Other must-see attractions in and around Kimberley include the McGregor Museum, Wildebeest Kuil Rock Art Site (on the Barkly West road), Magersfontein Battlefield, Mokale National Park, and many others.
South Africa is a land of incredible beauty, and you have the possibility of visiting Cape Town, the Pilansburg mountain range, or even the Drakensberg mountain ranges before or after your visit to Kimberley which would only be a short flight.

The friendly staff members at Tarentaalrand Safari Lodge will meet and greet you with a warm Northern Cape welcome to this peaceful haven, which is ideal for any business or private getaway. Three exclusive air-conditioned A-frame thatched chalets awaits your arrival. Here you can relax and enjoy your visit in comfort and peace. Who knows, you might just find game sleeping right next to your chalet. All visitors are welcome to make use of the other facilities available such as the swimming pool, TV room, Bar, Pool table etc.
